Why is the shoulder so sensitive for strains injuries?

Shoulder, the most sensitive joint

The shoulder is the most mobile joint in our bodies and therefore sensitive to various strain injuries and movement restrictions caused by local stress. Often, the restriction range of motion is not even noticed until, for example, while lifting during CrossFit class or during small everyday tasks, such as putting on a jacket. In the worst case, the movement already causes local pain on the shoulder, or as compensation for the rest of the body.

Insufficient range of motion also directly affects the strength. In many cases, simply increasing mobility with the right exercises has improved performance, especially in the movements where the arm is working above the shoulder. Of course, the shoulder joint also requires strong supporting muscles in the area around the joint to avoid strains. Especially the muscles of the scapula area and the back of the shoulder are often overlooked by both the athletes and the office workers.

The shoulder, like any other part of our body, should always be remembered. Single exercises do not work if all the other parts of the body is ignored. The movement and control of the pelvic area, core and chest are affecting to the amount of load we put on the shoulder. Whether it was working or exercising, all parts of the body interact with each other. Spotting weaknesses in range of motion and control can be difficult to identify alone, so it is advisable to use a professional to help evaluate any weak points that may be affecting you.
